British boxer Anthony Joshua Discharged from Hospital in Lagos Following Deadly Car Crash
Former heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua has been discharged from hospital, Nigerian authorities stated on Wednesday night. The athlete was part of a serious road collision outside Lagos on December 29th, a devastating event that resulted in the deaths of two of his valued colleagues.
Healing from Light Wounds
The sports star had remained in the hospital while recovering from minor injuries, representatives stated earlier on Monday. The Lagos state commissioner for information, Gbenga Omotoso, confirmed in an update on X that Joshua was judged healthy enough to continue his recovery at home.
“Anthony and his mother were at the funeral home in Lagos this afternoon to pay their final respects to his two friends who passed away as they were being prepared for repatriation,” the official remarked.
A Tribute to the Fallen
The two men who died were named as Latif Ayodele, Joshua's trainer, and Sina Ghami, a conditioning specialist. Omotoso added that the champion was filled with sorrow and deeply emotional over the loss of his two close friends.”
His release from the hospital follows the boxing community shared sympathy for the star in the following the devastating accident.
