19 of Daniil Medvedev's 21 titles have been achieved on hard surfaces
A comeback Medvedev secured his first championship for nearly 30 months with success over Frenchman Moutet in the competition title decider.
The Russian, a former world number one, has had a torrid period, managing just one win at the Grand Slams and experiencing a difficult moment at the American major.
His unpredictability on the tennis tour - and struggles with his service game in particular - resulted in him exiting of the world's top 10 and eventually separating with long-term mentor his previous coach.
Currently working with Thomas Johansson and his other coach, he has steadily advanced in the past month - climaxing in a hard-fought competitive victory over challenger Corentin Moutet.
This represents the player's initial title since the Italian tournament and first on a hardcourt since March of 2023.
The win also indicates the Russian has won 21 victories at 21 different tournaments.
"This marks the first occasion I am participating in a competition with my two daughters simultaneously, so to get a championship is particularly special," said tennis professional the champion.
"This victory is in honour of my younger daughter her name, because the first title I achieved when my older daughter her name was born was for her."
The tennis star, the former major winner, had failed in his past six championship matches, comprising in the German tournament previously this season.
Medvedev's defensive play style and frequent emotional displays on the playing surface had caused some to question if his skill to perform at the top level was over.
Yet the player has altered his approach in the last few weeks, making an effort to approach the net and compete assertively, supported by an enhanced service.
The champion recovered from a deficit in the opening set against the tricky opponent, securing 4 of the final five games to go ahead.
The competitors swapped service breaks in the following set before the challenger, bidding for his maiden professional victory, gained dominance to push for a final set.
He saved four early opportunities in a competitive deciding set before the Russian won the break to that score to serve for the match.
Fittingly, the winner clinched victory with a shot at the front of the court, with the Frenchman incapable to control a volley after a lengthy match.
