The top ranking in women's tennis carries immense symbolic weight. Unfortunately, Sabalenka has used her platform to invite criticism for those who seek to diminish her own sport.

A Controversial Lead-Up

In the end, the most effective method to appreciate the excellence of the sport is to view women's tennis. Not contrived exhibitions that cheapen the same game they claim to promote.
